It's a family run hotel and you can feel it. Everyone is so so nice. There are 3 generations working there.
It's very clean and tidy. There is a room downstairs for skiis, snowboards, wet gloves etc. There is a lift, beautiful restaurant, bar, TV room (every room has a TV anyway) and a terrace. WiFi is very cheap. The room we had was very big, with a safe, towels and bathrobes provided. THE ONLY 2 negative things: the shower is not mounted on the wall so you have to hold it and the hair dryer takes forever to do its job if you have long hair.
Anyway, food and service is excellent. Real traditional and local food - Trentino is all about apples so expect every vinegar including balsamic to be made of apples. You can even buy a bottle there - which obviously did. There is a pizzeria down the road but we only ate there once and only because we wanted to try it as the food in the hotel keeps you full all day.
It takes 5min walk down the hill and you have the cable cars up the slopes. IF YOU BOOK your STAY DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL THE SKIPASSES ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. Otherwise it's 80 euros for 2 days and about 400 for a week.
I don't ski so spent my days walking and the area is stunning. The little village/town of Mezzana is picteresque. There are 2 supermarkets, bank, cashpoint, gift shops, an Irish pub (10min walk from the hotel), ice rink and countless ski renting places. It's very popular with kayaking, rafting and mountain biking in the summer.
To get there we flew to Verona, took a train to Trento (1.5hrs for 12 euro or a fast hr train for about 30 euro) and the little train all the way to Marilleva900 which takes 2hrs (only about 70km) and costs 4.70 euro. Then Matteo at the hotel advised us to go back on a coach that leaves from the town and goes all the way to Verona airport. 2.5 hrs for 19 euro - thank God for cheap travel in Italy!
We had a great time: my sister wa snowboarding while I chilled out walking, sunbathing on our balcony and studying for my exams in peace and quiet. Matteo gave us a lift to the coach too.
It's a traditional hotel, nothing fancy but clean, friendly, spacious and with a real family feel. e're definitely coming back! (I can't stop thinking about that home made plum jam they serve for breakfast...)
Exzellent
Truly Italian experience - book immediately :)
